Rosebank college Pretoria campus GEP (graduate empowerment programme) hosted its second entrepreneurship and innovation workshop on the 31st August at the Campus hall for the IIE RC students and graduates. The event brought together aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned professionals to share insights, knowledge, and strategies for success in the world of business.

The workshop featured a line-up of distinguished speakers who delivered dynamic presentations, each lasting 15 minutes, covering a wide range of topics crucial for aspiring entrepreneurs. Among the speakers was Mighty Mabule, the visionary founder of Mabule International. Mabule shared invaluable insights into the skills and mindset required to thrive as an entrepreneur, emphasizing the importance of Quality, Affordable and how it starts with you.
Addressing the critical issue of funding for small businesses, Patrick Sibeko, an outreach officer from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), captivated the audience with his presentation. He shed light on various funding opportunities available to start up and provided guidance on how to access financial resources to kickstart or scale their ventures.
For those grappling with tax responsibilities, Kgotse, a team leader at the South African Revenue Service (SARS), was on hand to clarify tax-related matters. Her presentation helped entrepreneurs understand their tax obligations and navigate the complex tax landscape with confidence. But also made some to be shocked about the 28% tax that it takes on your business.
Financial planning advisor Kgotso Letsoalo from Sanlam offered invaluable advice on managing personal and business finances effectively. His insights into financial planning and investment strategie, highlighting the importance of sound financial practices for long-term success.
Representatives from the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) shared their expertise on how to approach funders successfully. They provided attendees with practical tips on crafting compelling business proposals and making a compelling case for financial support.
Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) also played a vital role in the workshop by educating participants on how to start a business and adhere to regulatory compliance. This knowledge was invaluable for those looking to formalize their business ventures.

During the event, a comfort break took place and Refreshments were served to keep attendees energized and engaged throughout the workshop. After coming back questions and answers was conducted where attendees were given the opportunity to ask anything they needed clarity on and answers were provided by our speakers
