Pretoria- Kiernan’s proud family visited his grave in celebration of his win. The biggest winner of the night AKA was awarded four awards on May 6th, 2023, at the 17th Metro Fm awards held at Mpumalanga after a five-year break.
Kiernan also known as AKA was shot dead early this year in February in Durban, the late award-winning rapper has built a legacy that even in his death he still recognized. He was nominated for six awards and won four. Among his awards is the artist of the year award, best male artist, best Hip-Hop artist as well as his hit track ‘lemonade’ giving him the best collaboration award.
Kairo Owethu Forbes, the lates daughter along with AKA’s parents received the rappers’ awards. In receiving one of the awards the lates daughter Kairo touched the hearts of many by singing one of her father’s song word to word.
His mother Lynn Forbes took to Instagram mentioning how proud she is of her late son saying: “Kiernan (AKA), your talent is unquestionable. You have been consistent for almost 2 decades, and you deserve each of these awards. You are a legend, and you have left us with a lasting legacy for the generations to come. We are so proud of you, and we want to acknowledge the people who you chose to be there with you till the end and bring Mass Country to life.”
