Counsellor and friend shot dead in Mkhuhlu township.

Mkhuhlu Counsellor Lot Bazuka Nkuna and his close friend David Matsane, were shot and killed on Saturday night after attending a sports event at a nearby primary school.


The two victims were pronounced dead on the scene.the incident took place around eight at night in Mkhuhlu Tsemas, leaving residents in a state of fear and disbelief. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that Nkuna was seated inside a VW Polo, while Matsane was standing just outside the vehicle. The witnesses further stated that the assailant allegedly approached the victims, firing a barrage of bullets before fleeing the scene. Seven spent cartridges and a live round were discovered by authorities at the crime scene, indicating a deliberate and targeted attack.


The local police have launched an investigation into the double homicide. According to preliminary findings, investigators believe that a lone gunman initially passed by Nkuna and Matsane and returned, opening fire with deadly precision. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, leaving the community on edge and searching for answers.


Some of Mkhuhlu residents, still grappling with the shock of the double murder, expressed their grief and concern for the safety of the community. Lot Bazuka Nkuna and Comrade David Matsane were well-known figures in the area, involved in various community activities and events. Local law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. They are working diligently to identify the assailant and determine the motive behind this heinous crime.




As news of the double murder spreads, Mkhuhlu communities are calling for increased police presence and enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of the community. The tragic incident has not only claimed the lives of two individuals but has also left a scar on the tight-knit community of Mkhuhulu.
